Practice
Task 1

For task 1 we had to learn the basics. I animated the ball going through the hoop and back round to the beginning so it can loop.
Task 2

For task 2 we did the famous bouncing ball animation. It was quiet hard as I’m used to pressing start and stop quickly and re-watching the same section over and over to see what wrong. In Maya you have to re click the frame so it took longer then expected. Over all it came out looking better. I added one of the 12 principles of animation, squash and stretch to this animation.
Task 3

Task 3 I had to use graph editor. I broke the tangents, which are the yellow dots, so I could make the arches more pointy and the point of contact of the ground. Each tangent is key frame. If i could improve anything I would remove the key frames closer to the bounce.
So first thing is I use krita as I find it a lot easier to use. I have been using krita for a while to do a lot of my own 2D animations

After researching the 12 principles of animation I could learn more skills then before. I knew squash and stretch for when I character needed to feel more bouncy or for fast movements. Then there’s staging. Planning out where the main frames will be and how they will join together.
This is the first animation I did. As you can see its a jump but the arms don’t work. This is because they kept glitching out and jumping in front of the body inside of going straight up.
This is my second animation. Its a walk cycle and a lot easier then the jump. There are things wrong with this but since I’m new to 3D animation I can’t tell whats wrong with it.

For the story board I did a lot more then I should have. I think in future I will make a story board of what I want to do and then remove things I can’t do or fit into my time table. In this story board you see green carrying a heavy box as pink looks at a blueprint. They stop in the middle of the room with green putting down the box tired before pink wanted to move it somewhere. If I do story board again I will make a second one removing things I can’t do. For this one I would remove pink. As for the green character depending on the time I have I’d remove the last 2 boards.

The key stages. This is the first time I’ve ever done key stages. I thought that was what the story board was for. Like I said in the story board I am most likely going to remove the second character and the last few frames due to skill and time. (p.s. I am righting this a while after doing these) If redid this then I would clean it up a bit and do more then one. I think it would of been better if I had more then one idea.

I found some references that would help me to do my animations. The body leans back when holding a large box. the head cant look down in the box is in the way and finally how to pick up a box. Though the last one may not happen due to time.
Finally finishing the main animation. The walk looks pretty good along with the stretch. I don’t feel like I did the putting done the box corrected. May be something to do with the hands. I have it so his hands go from under the box to the side of the box to show he doesn’t want his figures to get trapped. It may also be the box itself. I could speed it up as it falls.
